The Touch of Your Heart
When you touch my hand
And bring it to your heart
I feel more than just your skin;
I feel you, the essence of you,
And the roots of your very being.
I want that touch to be warmer
And smile in my heart,
Like the one that used to cross your face
So that once again
You can sew the wounds
And ease my heart that bleeds.
I can’t deny the joy it brings
When we are connected as one.
How long should I wait
For you to come ‘round again?
I’ll keep holding on and following your lead.
