Drowning In Your Sea

In the midst of drowning
In this beauty called the sea
I can feel you calling my name;
Calling out, reaching for me.

You make everything alright
When you blow past my ear;
Something tells me
I can find my way with you here.

I spoke to you, harsh wind,
The last time I cried.
Do you remember me
Begging answers to why it died?

Even the seagulls, with their poise,
Slept while we talked those nights.
I wept at your side
And dimpled your sands under the starlight.
Did you care?

Blanket in hand, weary;
Every feeling I left leary,
All the times I left teary –
You flooded me with hope;
But didn’t.
