For Isabel.

To Make You Smile Again

To make you smile again
Would rob the winnings from his grasp.
His selfish pinings
Drain happiness from your clasp.

Only a strongest man
Could salvage this lady damsel;
Only the penitent man
Can invigorate this fallen angel.

From the shadows
She’ll shine again;
From the gallows
She’ll be freed again.

When the warm sunlight breathes
And touches her amber face;
The birds will softly sing
And uplift her to her place.
