In Shadows And Starlight
In shadows and starlight
I break through the twilight
To find out blankness
From inside my night fight.
On to new buildings
Of trust through my feelings
And staggering over memories
That wisk me away.
I see in my future
All things that will puncture
My heart into holes
Leaving it to decay.
Surpassing my lackings
Around loosened frappings,
Until the last moment
I’ll sit here and pray.
In search of this mystery
To continue my misery
To make me more interesting
And welcome dismay.
I envy your debachery
And long for my own
Until you make a mockery
Of the simple words I’ve honed.
Don’t let me be mislead
My words you should heed
The cautions abound I am seeing.
You won’t suffer long
Until after it’s gone
And you’re left there.
Alone and weeping.
