Completely

I was going to name this poem “April”
But thought that it wouldn’t rhyme.
I sat back thinking, “What the hell”
And wasted some more time.

Was I good for you or you for me;
I do not know for sure.
I only know that I love you
And this aching I cannot endure.

You’re so far away; yet so near
No others stand in my way.
I’ll sweep you off your feet, my dear
And hold you forever from May.

Too late to fly and run away
To your arms that await me.
I’ll have to live another day
   Loving you completely.
