When It All Comes Down

When it all comes down
I’ll still be here.
Holding onto the past
And lending an ear.

When it all comes down
We’ll look through the dust.
Looking for hope
And to calm savage lust.

I’ll stand by the wayside
As things flow by.
I’ll extend my hand
When all others turn awry.

Do you know of a friendship –
One as strong as that?
Do you know of where we stand?
Has it fallen flat?

When it all comes down
I’ll still be here.
Holding onto what lasts –
Delivering you from your fear.
