I have an entry about school inductions and the realities of Lord of the Flies but, for the moment, I think this will suffice! The most recent survey!

Do you make your bed?

If you call vaguely flipping the duvet into a position that involves sort of covering the mattress then yes!

The first car that was officially yours?

A total girl racer car. My first car was a little grey Ford Fiesta XR2. Oh that thing was a nippy little thing. I loved it so much. But I sold it when I moved to Florida in 1994.

Three grocery items you don’t run out of?

Um.... I don’t think there’s anything. I mean, I had to buy sandwiches in little Tesco for the girls’ school lunches today! I hate spending money on pre made sarnies! Oh. Sanitary towels.. .

When did you start doing your own laundry?

When I was in my upper teens my mum encouraged me to do more and once I left home it was up to me. Even the few times I moved back home i still did my own washing (although it was probably more my mum’s choice than mine!)

If you could, would you go back to high school?

Oh good God, why oh why would this be a consideration?!? No. Just no!

Can you parallel park in 3 moves?

Good question. When I lived in London and owned a Renault 5 I could nip in spaces with one swift movement. Now I don’t live in London and own a nice, big family car I can’t parallel park for anything!

A job you had which people would be shocked to know you did?

Um… Picking potatoes? Jewellery shop assistant? Cleaner? Kitchen assistant? Chamber maid? Seriously, do any of those shock you?!

Do you think aliens are real?

I don’t believe that, in a universe as vast as ours, there could be the possibility that this is the only planet with life on it.

Can you drive a stick shift?

Manual cars are the norm in the UK. I was surprised in the USA that my boss was allowed to drive a manual car despite only having taken a test in an automatic. Here that’s not allowed. If you take the test in an automatic you can only drive automatics.

Guilty TV show you watch?

Gogglebox and NCIS.

Would you rather be too hot or too cold?

It’s a tricky one. Being too hot is hard to rectify while being too cold can be helped with extra layers of clothing. However, being cold makes me grumpy as anything while being hot makes m me feel chilled out.

If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors?

Firstly I really want to be pedantic: the world won’t end. The human race are likely to wipe life (except cockroaches) off the planet, but the world won’t end. Now for the answer. As an asthmatic, survival would be futile as breathing is pretty tricky without twice daily applications of medicine.

Sweet or Salty?

It used to be aaaallllllll about the sweet stuff, but now I really enjoy salty.

Do you enjoy soaking in a nice bath?

Some days require nothing less than a bath at perfect temperature with a gently fizzing Lush ballistic and some radio 4.

Do you consider yourself strong?

Physically, my legs are bloody amazing. My arms are not too bad. Mentally, I’m breaking strength barriers I didn’t know existed.

Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy?

Something I see professional footballers do which is mimicked on the playground. Both arms out wide and a look of utter innocence and protest on the face. Even when you watched them take down another player! no. Just bloody well own up.

Something you do, physically, that you are sure drives other people crazy?

This year I have had a Major issue with my sinuses blocking. I’ve had a few weeks respite but otherwise, they constantly fill up. It’s driving me crazy! But I constantly snort otherwise i get post nasal drip which is absolutely horrible and can lead to trachaeitis.

Do you have any birthmarks?

Not as such, but the little toe on my right foot grows on top of its neighbour rather than next to it.

Favorite childhood sport?

I used to watch Grandstand with my dad sometimes, no particular favourite just an enjoyment of watching with dad. I started running when I was 14 so that would count.

Do you talk to yourself?

Only when I want the right answer 😄😂😉

Do you like doing jig-saw puzzles?

I do enjoy them. My neighbours, growing up, always had a huge puzzle going under the tablecloth on their dining table. The cloth would be taken of so everyone could have a go as they wanted. I’ve been thinking of doing something similar.

Would you go on a reality show?

Hell to the no!

Tea or coffee?.

Neither. I have coffee periodically if I have to go to work and everything feels like sludge. Never tea (although my go-to drink is lemon and ginger infusion). So I guess coffee but not as a regular thing.

First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?

A teacher. Thank goodness I didn’t do that, what a thankless and stressful job! Assisting the teachers is as far as I’m happy to go.

No matter how much money you have or don’t have, what are you an absolute snob about?

Books. I like well written books. Mainly in children’s books departments it is possible to find utterly shit books with twee pictures off princesses and awful storylines full of 1950s ideology of beauty and baking. I bloody hate them!!

I do not chill out in the heat, I envy that in you, lol, give me a cold day with a few extra layers and a nice warm fire, I'm the chillest ever, lol,

I didn't know you were asthmatic, I too would not want to survive the apocalypse either, ugh,

Your bedmaking and parallel parking sound exactly like me! I learned to parallel park living in DC, but now I'm terrible at it. Better than my husband, though, who can't do it at all. And we have a teeny car, so no excuses there.
