In the best way!

Rich is in the US, he’s at the zoo at the moment and planning to start on the beer soon!

Meanwhile, Lila spotted some fleas so i have utterly traumatised the cats by de-fleaing them and the house. It was as Oreo was panting that i started to worry, Rich did research to discover that the tablets shouldn’t be given in hot weather. It didn’t say it on the leaflet, just after a t’internet search! Anyway, she eventually calmed down and slept.

As for the house, yesterday involved ten loads of washing - clothes, bedding, towels etc… And we set off flea-bombs around the house as well as spraying everything! This gave us a couple of hours to go to the pub for lunch and to chill in the gorgeous weather we’re having. It’s been 27°-30°C (80°+F) and I’m loving it…

Not sure I’ll love it so much when we’re back at work tomorrow!

Of course, Rich being away has an effect on my running - T can be left alone for short spaces of time but L can’t so I’ve been using ice cream to bribe the girls to come with me! On Friday, L and I were supposed to do 7km but the ice cream shop was closed! We did almost 10 km in total by the time we had found somewhere to buy an ice cream! 😂😂

I contacted the ice cream shop yesterday, to find out their opening times - 10-5 every day - so we could plan the time of our run! This morning we all went, stopping at 5km for the ice cream (water for me), and finishing at the 7km point (just by the house). It was lots of fun, weaving in and out of trees in the local country park, chatting as we went. On the way back it was after 11am and was getting very hot - T really struggles with heat so she was getting quite floppy, the last kilometer and a half were spent dangling a metaphorical glass of iced water in front of her, which I turned into a reality when we were home!

I didn’t have breakfast and a part of me has been hankering after porridge all day!!

Today has been all about the chillage! I had a long soak in the bath while reading The Girl of Ink and Stars. I bought it for T for Easter and it’s wonderful. The annoying thing about it is that the author was born in 1990!! How is that possible! Oh God, I sound old now 😂😂😂

I then went into the garden, put a chair in the shade and finished the book ☺

The cats have been utterly flopped around the house, under the trees, in any shady, dark corner they can find!

Seriously people (and cats), this weather is awesome - what’s wrong with you all 😉 🌞

Adults born after 1990...it does my head in!

I can't believe your girls did 10km with you. That's amazing!!!

The girls were on bikes... I may have forgotten to mention that.

is it humid there, I can handle that heat if it isn't humid but add the humidity in and I wilt,

sounds like you are enjoying your weekend, have fun!!!!

Oh, I'm with you -- I LOVE hot weather! It's hot here too (about the same - 80+), and I'm soaking it up. I also love the idea of combining runs with ice cream!

That's a great way to get the girls out of thouse and get in the kind of activity you want/need :)
