Moving across the open plain, the deep and far off distance. I imagine you and I. Unrestrained from property, from ownership. Even our relationship, unfettered from who we were and who we are now.
I’ve often watched far off heights with romantic longing. What would it be like to be there? To have you with me? Without need for talking.
In those distances I’ve seen incredible mountain peaks plated with snow. Sloping, vast hillsides. All and every cast in a golden light, lined with faint, rose pink. Impossible places that few, or maybe no one could possibly know or has ever been.
I wait long enough, I imagine and I study, and I can begin to see us in all truth and reality walking slowly in one another’s company.
