I visited my parents this weekend.
So my dad’s getting tired of me being single. He wants to see me married already. Isn’t the first time he’s brought this up, won’t be the last.
He brings up that he’s willing to go to Vietnam to get a girl for me to marry immediately. I’m like “fuck no!” Not that I don’t want to get married, but having my dad try to find me someone to marry… riighhhtttt…
He talks about how getting a girl to marry me is so easy! That all you have to do is pay her and she’ll marry you (like prostitution).
I bring up how they may marry me only for the green card and my dad tries to shoot that down.
My dad then points out if he could get my mom to marry him, finding someone to marry should be easy. Let me point out, my dad got lucky. I really feel my mom could have done better!!!!!
I double-down and tell him “fine… I will do so as long as you insure the marriage. If i get divorced in less than 5 years, he pays me everything I lose in the divorce plus a hefty amount of interest, like 50% interest on top of what i lose in the divorce.”
he seems all about it until I also said “i also get final approval on who i marry”. His face suddenly frowned… as if he realized how difficult this was going to be…
Then we tell this to my sister (who my dad will only listen to). My sister proceeds to tell my dad how much of an idiot he is for this and tells him other stories about marriages gone wrong! That finally shuts him up right there.
So, ladies!!!! Who wants to go out for drinks!?!?!
