I do like doing these. This one is actually two glued together but who's counting eh? Let's crack right on and get to the questions.
Are you a very open or private person?
I’d say I’m generally a pretty private person. The online diary has always been my escape in terms of ranting about things that piss me off because I’m aware they’re usually transient and what annoyed me today will just be another challenge to deal with tomorrow.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Muppets Christmas Carol, Alistair Simms Christmas Carol and It’s a wonderful life.
When did you stop believing in Santa?
I was quite young. I remember asking mum whilst on a walk and demanding she promise to answer me honestly.
What do you get complimented on the most?
My brain. I’m not stupid. In terms of physical features, it’s strangely my posterior. I find this odd. I don’t consider it a terrible bum and it provides adequate padding for sitting on. I just never thought of it as sexy.
How are you feeling right now?
Truthfully I’m tired. I haven’t felt on top of the world since Charlotte and I broke up. I’ve booked a 3 day weekend just to give me time to get myself together but I’ve been quite morose and haven’t been tidying or cleaning as I ought so the weekend will probably be eaten up with that.
If money was no object, where would you move to?
I’d stay around the area but I’d travel a lot more. I really want to explore some more of the world I live in.
Who was the last person to make you cry?
Including or discarding movies? Including movies it’d Ewan McGregor and cast in “The Impossible”. I dare to you watch that movie. It’s based on a true story. Excluding the fictional it’d be Charlotte. As I’ve said before it’s only the people we care for who can hurt us.
Did you make any resolutions for this year? What were they?
I resolved to have a better 2014 then 2013. It’s not started out well but I am an optimist at heart. I shall persevere.
Is there a song which can bring you to tears instantly?
Nope.
Who was the last person you talked about sex with?
That’d be Shep, my flatmate. We joke about sex a lot.
How did you bring in the New Year?
I spent new year with my family. They went to sleep and I woke them up to ring in the new year. Then I went to bed.
Have you ever online dated?
Tried to, yeah. It’s making the jump from a virtual to a physical presence that is quite difficult. I’m not exactly a shy lad but I never seem to hit the optimum time for meeting up and smooching. Either get friend-zoned or come off creepy. These days I’m justing waiting for them to ask to meet up.
Post a screen shot of your Twitter “Interactions” page.
I don’t have twitter.
Click on the messages tab on Facebook, post a screen shot (erase surnames for safety).
Hell no!
Post a screenshot of your tumblr activity page.
Don’t have tum… look stop asking for screen shots you creepy stalker quiz.
Do you believe in soul mates?
Yes but I don’t believe we have just one. A soul mate is someone you can open yourself up to completely without fear of reprisal and they know they can do the same. That’s something you develop, it doesn’t just happen.
Do you play video games?
Does Sonic like rings? Yes, I’ve been known to play the odd game now and again.
What age do people usually mistake you for?
They don’t. I pretty much look 32.
What or whom do you miss right now?
I shall not lie, I miss my ex’. It was fun and I miss being with her. That’s not to say there weren’t problems but overall I found the relationship a positive one. I think you can’t help but miss something that brought you happiness when you know you can’t have it anymore.
What perfume do you wear?
I don’t. I just scrub hard with water and shampoo on a daily basis. Perfume can aggravate my skin.
When you wash your hands, do you use the cold or hot tap (faucet)?
Hot. You’ve got to have a system.
If you had to be straight/gay for a day (whichever you’re currently not!), what celebrity would you most like to take on a date?
Ian McKellen. I know nothing would happen and we could talk which is a normal first date for me.
What is the biggest injury you’ve ever sustained and how did you do it?
I’ve already spoken about my car crash in several other entries. Basically I was coming out of a drive way on my bike and a car hit me at 40+ mph. I flew across the road and my knee cap exploded. They had to sew it together without general anaesthetic.
What is the most unusual food you’ve ever eaten?
Ate chocolate covered ants once. They’re salty.
What is the most unique animal you’ve ever touched?
Um. Tarantula? Boa Constrictor? One of those two probably.
What’s the most expensive gift you’ve ever bought for someone? How much did it cost and who was it for?
Blimey, I’m not sure. I once bought Erika an amber pendant that I recall was pretty expensive (about a hundred squid I think).
Which 3 countries would you LEAST like to live in and why?
This questionnaire is getting interesting. I’ve never considered places I don’t want to live, really. Well Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan are all in active wars at the moment, so I’ll pop for those. Truthfully though, I think I’d hate to live in America as well which is a little prejudice of me as I’ve never been there but every documentary I’ve seen about the place, culture and people has not endeared me to the vast amount of it. As with the other three I imagine there’s loads of it that’s absolutely gorgeous and safe with a lovely people and culture but I don’t know where about it is in any of the cases. Actually, come to think of it, this question is a little vague.
If you could make just ONE change to this world, what would it be and why?
I’d make karma real. Good and intelligent people would live longer, breed more successfully and have better lives.
If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in 3 additional languages, which would you choose?
PERL (a programming language), German and Japanese.
Which would you rather out of these 3 options? A: Be good looking and extremely intelligent but so poor you live on the streets. B: Be extremely intelligent and a millionaire but what society classes as ugly. Or C: Be good looking and a millionaire but extremely academically challenged? Why?
A. Living out on the streets is a place to start, not finish. If I was extremely intelligent I would quickly be off the streets again.
What are the top 10 movies to make you cry? (Or at least make you sad!)
In no particular order: The Impossible; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; Awakenings (the Robert deNiro one); Schindlers List; My Girl; The Green Mile; Shawshank Redemption; Land Before Time; and the first bit of UP.
What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Describe it in detail.
Answered this one before. I got stabbed in a really realistic dream and truly believed I was going to die. I was walking along the street to the local church and this guy jumped out with a Rapier and ran me right through. I physically felt the sensation.
Would you rather raise 25 children or have the chance of ever having children taken away? Why?
Tough call but I think I’d rather have the chance taken away. I can adopt, it’s not the physical procreation that makes the parent/ child bond. Bringing 25 kids into the world is irresponsible. I would not have the time, ability or the money to care for them all.
Would you rather go on a relaxing beach type holiday to the Caribbean, a cultural holiday to Japan or an adventure packed holiday to South Africa?
Cultural holiday to Japan. I like exploring and meeting people.
If you went to a desert island for just 6 months but could only take one album with you, what would you take?
Probably a compilation rock album.
Put these in order of your favourite movie genre to least:Horror, action, thriller, adventure, superhero, romance, drama, comedy, musical and dance?
This question is unfair. Depends what mood I’m in. Remove Dance I love all of the other types. Ok, well I’ll do it but this is just what I feel like now, ok? Right? Right. Horror, comedy, adventure, superhero, action, thriller, romance, musical, drama and dance?
If you had to lose one of the 5 senses, which would you choose and why?
Hmmm. Taste. I like food but I like the other senses more. Taste brings me pleasure. The other senses help me survive.
What have been the top 3 most brilliant days of this year? Describe them in as much or as little detail as you like.
Well there haven’t been many yet. Getting the car, that was pretty awesome. Seeing Charlotte for the first time after new year was too. Oh and I got to see my Nieces on new years day. There. Three.
What do you believe we as human beings take most for granted in this world?
Mortality. It’s hard to grasp the concept of death and we all secretly believe we’re free from it. If you were to think about the alternative for too long you’d go crazy so I can understand why we do but part of me thinks if we were more afraid of our mortality and the loss of self we might try to do more with the time we have.
How many concerts have you been to in your life and which was your favourite? If you’ve not been to one, who would you most like to see?
Not many, I’m not a big concert goer. Alice Cooper in Glasgow was probably my favourite. Man puts on a good show. I quite liked seeing “Space” in Sunderland but that was mainly because we got to go to the back stage party.
Well that dusted off the cobwebs a little. Catch you all later.
Ramble ramble ramble.
