After the sad impending demise of Open Diary I have been pointed to this site as a way of continuing contact with people, friends and others (!) so here I am.

I have downloaded all entries from OD and have them saved now. I was a contributor to that community since November '99. Even I didn't realise that it had been that long! Mind you I also saw that I hadn't posted in there since January 2012! Naughty me!

Just read my last entry there and can't believe how much has happened since then. Ok quick catch up.

We moved into the new bungalow in March 2012 so have been here nearly 2 years now. We love it and are very happy here. Had a new drive put in and a conservatory added, new bathroom (with low ledge shower for Lee)and are happy with things at the moment. Kitchen is an ongoing project we are mostly doing ourselves when time allows.

Lee did indeed buy a bungalow in Cornwall. Vicki , his sister moved in, and things were good for a while. Then she found another feller who is almost as bad as the first one! Sadly we are too far away this time to show her the error of her ways!!!

Lee had a bit of trouble with the Police for one of his hair-brained schemes. Basically he thought he was helping a "friend" out but got lied to (again) and ended up being the scape goat. Narrowly avoided going inside for a while but it shook him up.

Partly because of that, and partly because of Vicki's new feller, he sold the bungalow after about a year. Vicki has found a nice place a bit further down the coast in Cornwall and her n said feller are co-habiting. He has a daughter from his previous relationship which they get saddled with every weekend and bank holiday leaving the mum free for her leisure time. Tried telling Vicki that it's not fair that HER free time is taken up with looking after someone else's kid, but she says the kid is part of her life too now, so looks like a losing battle there.

Lee had his op on his stump which seems to have been successful and he's just waiting for physio to start so he can get back to wearing his prosthetic leg. He sold the Can-Am (3-wheeler m/bike) as he wasn't riding it enough. Bought himself his dream car, a '68 Ford Mustang. Lovely car, good condition, cost a fortune to buy, run and insure! That will be going again sometime soon as it's just sitting on our drive doing nothing, and I don't want it deteriorating in this crap British weather!

He's been back to Cornwall since the operation and has just bought another place down there and will be moving back there soon. He's been living up here with us for the last 18 months due to the legal problems, but now its all over, and the op done as well he needs to get back to his life. he made a lot of friends down there while he was there and certainly has more of a social life there than here, so we will be glad when he gets back there.....plus it means Dawn and I can return to some sanity!

Job-wise, I did the Community nursing for 18 months but started to struggle as I have developed arthritis in my wrists and knees and just about every call was on my knees doing dressings. So now I am a Nurse Adviser for a company called Quintiles, a big Pharma company. I am part of a team that covers the country visiting MS and Growth Hormone deficiency patients and teach them how to administer their medication. It's a lot of travelling (drove 26,000 miles in my first year!) but I love the job. The company is brilliant and very supportive. I get a company car, laptop, mobile phone, and expenses. Salary is better too as I am paid at Band 7 which is same as a Charge Nurse/Sister. Been doing it for just over a year now and it is by far the best nursing job I have had. I actually celebrate 10 years as a nurse in March!

Additions to the family include 3 chickens, another dog (Lhasa Apso called Honey) and a Bearded Dragon called Eragon. she was supposed to be Lee's pet, and to be fair he has looked after her with a little help from us, since he got her last July, but she will be staying here when he goes back to Cornwall as he won't be able to look after her properly on his own. He has this problem with cleaning up her poop! And to be honest it does stink!!

Well, that's the last 2 years in a nutshell. I am sure there is more and it may come out as I remember things. If I remember to write entries! LOL
