There's nothing quite like the panic that ensues when you discover that your 71 year old dad phoned during the day. He never phones during the day! I eventually managed to get hold of him (after getting the number wrong the first time - the number that my dad has had since 1971 and, by proxy, I had for my entire childhood) and he said "actually, I've got a problem." My heart is beating in my throat at this point. "what can I help you with dad?" I ask in as light a voice as I can manage. "well, it's facebook," he says... Facebook? Right - so I don't need to worry then?! "i want to make a comment on your brother's status and say 'well done' to him," (my brother has just cycled from London to Paris in three days, I assume he's travelling back in comfort now!) "well, I 've written the message but I can't see a button to click on to get it up there." "ah, just press enter now dad," "you mean 'enter' on the keyboard?" "yes," I hear a click in the background "Ah, that did it, thanks love," "no worries dad," "well, I'll let you get back, I love you," "i love you too dad," I really wish he wouldn't scare me like that! :-D

That was sweet! :-)

By the way, your brother has lived one of my dreams! I used to have this dream of cycling around Europe... Maybe someday I can still do it.

You know, my parents used to do a lot of cycling too, including around Europe, and my dad proposed to his wife on a beach in Denmark after they had cycled there together - sidenote, he proposed the evening of the summer solstice 2002 and rich proposed to me on Glastonbury tor on the morning of the summer solstice 2002! Neither of us knew about the other at the time! X

See? That's beautiful :-)

Kate you should write a book with all these stories. I swear I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Also, these coincidences is what makes me believe in signs... Your life is filled with magic :-)
