I am doing it! :oD in A New Beginning

HA! I wonder if I am the only person who was ever excited about buying a cane, not to be part of a costume or anything but to actually USE?? I have been browsing “wooden canes” on eBay for the past several days, and I just put in a bid on one. This is the first time I’ve bid on anything on eBay! The asking price was $17.99 and I bid $22. I am the second bidder, and now the highest bidder. It’s got free shipping, so I think I will go as high as $30. It is a very nice-looking wooden cane with a knob-type handle, which I think is what I would find comfy to hold. I want it, not because I need one all the time (no ways near!), but for when we do rituals in the woodland and have to walk quite a long ways on paths to get to the ritual circle. If my leg gets really really painful, I need to lean on something and the only person I would want to have to lean on is Joe! We go to lots of separate events, so when Joe’s not with me I want a cane!
I am really happy that January is almost done. At work, we rotate positions at the start of each month. For the past two months, I’ve been main server....in December on Line 2, and in January on Line 3. I’m really hoping that she puts me on cash register for February. It is by far the easiest job in the place, though some of ‘em seem to stress out over it. It’s not a hot OR messy job like serving is!! Nor is it physical, except that of course you stand there to do it. But as server, you’re always having to heft heavy pans around, and there’s a lot of stretching to reach things. OF COURSE, I realize that I have also not been in the dishroom yet this year. At this point, I’ll take that over being main server too!!!! I look forward to getting to work on Monday and finding out where I’m at for the next month!
Joe went up north to his coven’s Imbolc ritual today. I had been gonna go to it, but since I resolved to go back to my own coven, I am going to ours, which is next weekend. I enjoy rituals that celebrate our eight annual Wiccan sabbats, but I don’t need to go to two rituals for the same one! Besides, it is a two-and-a-half-hour drive up to where Joe’s coven is. My ass and leg don’t take kindly to a long drive like that, oftentimes. Joe didn’t mind when I said I wasn’t going. And so I made plans with sister Sandy to go shopping and out to lunch today, and that was fun!
Ya know, my sisters are both GREAT, and I have no trouble getting along with either of them! I don’t know why they have trouble getting along with each other! It probably stems from childhood, since they are relatively close in age.
I saw on the yahoo news today that Trump has been talking on the phone with leaders of other important countries. The article didn’t really say a lot about what-all they talked about, but even so it gave me a ray of hope. :o)
