TS4: Darla in The Sims

Since there have been some amazing deals on the games in the last month I’m close to having all TS4 packs. I have all three ex-packs now. So I only need one more game pack (Dine Out) and two more stuff packs (Backyard & Vintage Glamour) which I can get next month for my birthday. So woohoo on being close to caught up with all the game releases for TS4!

I've mostly been playing a new Sim I created named Darla Joyville (I know, I suck at names).

Her wardrobe.

Darla working hard at her job as a Barista at South Square Coffee in Windenburg. This is where Darla met her future husband, Paolo Rocca. He lives about a block away from the cafe.

With her hunky significant other (after I gave Paolo a makeover).

This is Paolo before the makeover and he wasn't bad but I wanted more interesting/better looking clothing and hair. His tattoos stayed though.

Darla has a lovely best friend named Tanya Poindexter. She has a husband (who is equally as lovely, Darla is friends with both of them) and a teenage son.

These are Darla's dear parents, Caroline and Daniel (may they RIP).

Darla and Paolo at their wedding. I made the mistake of not having Paolo move in before they got married so I couldn't stop his stupid Sim-ass from changing into his swimsuit which ruined most of the photos. Stupid Sim AI. There was a pool on the lot so I should have known better!

Darla is a family-orientated Sim so not long after the wedding she and Paolo were expecting their first child. Here's a very pregnant Darla headed out for a yoga class.

When she tells her best friend the good news, Tanya is VERY happy for her.

While pregnant Darla enjoys staying up late, eating cheese popcorn, and watching horror movies with all the lights in the house out.

When the baby finally arrives there are a bunch of neighbours (including Tanya's husband in the middle) at the house who started freaking out.

Paolo passed out, he had been asleep in bed when Darla went into labour..

Darla at the hospital in the delivery room.

Then baby! Her name is Anne.

Anne can be a bit grumpy and I was super disappointed with how limited the interactions with the baby are. They took a lot of functionality out of that life stage.

Anne all grown up. Unfotunately EA decided to go back in time to The Sims in February 4, 2000 so there are no toddlers in the game. Babies grow into full children instead of toddlers. It feels like such a GIANT step back. This was just pure laziness on their part.

Just because Darla is a mother doesn't mean she stopped pampering herself. Sometimes she leaves Anne and Paolo to fend for themselves and takes a spa day.

Some gossip with her favourite masseuse.

Some steamy time.

And a stone back massage.

She also makes sure to stay in shape with regular yoga classes that she and Paolo attend together for some couple's time.

Lastly a little meditation at home and she is one serene mommy!

Some random shots. This creepy skeleton fish belongs to Rana.

These drinks look SO refreshing!

I was VERY disappointed to find out that the wedding and birthday cakes are the same pitifully small cake. The only difference is the birthday cake has candles and the wedding cake has a wedding topper. I loved the multi-tiered cakes they created in The Sims 3. This cake looks like it couldn't fit a child's birthday party let alone a wedding party.

It has taken me four weeks of playing to finally see a Sim in desperate motives failure which turns their little plumbob red. I had to capture the moment, lol. This was Darla's plumbob after she slept for too long while pregnant and nearly peed herself!

Darla was at Tanya's house and I noticed this lovely little painting. While I was looking at it the game time went past midnight and suddenly that lovely little painting wasn't so lovely anymore! Scared the crap out of me! I love quirks of the game like that.

That's it for now! Until next time, happy simming!
