This could, in time, become one of the greatest drinking games ever. I don't know that I would call it a good movie. It has plenty of moments where it tries a little too much and falls flat (there was nothing remotely funny about Ron embarrassing his boss at her family dinner, nor was there any real point to it), but for every scene that came off trite and undercooked, there was another one that was just effortessly hilarious. I think my favorite scene was probably the one where Fantana (Paul Rudd) gives Tamland (Steve Carrell) dating advice by giving him his choice of condom. I could paraphrase the exchange, but it would ruin the jokes. The idea to critique 24-hour news was handled beautifully (since half the stuff covered does appear to be asinine enough to have come from the mind of Ron himself), and the self-reverential National News Gang War at the end has enough cameos to keep you interested without necessarily being all that interesting. Just one question: Are the jokes about Tamland being from the future or having access to the future coming from something that goes over my head? Maybe it's referencing the previous film and I just don't remember, but I kept waiting for a final punchline and all I was given was a nifty laser gun.
