Charlotte wasn’t completely sure what Gerty meant by the ominous sounding statement. Surely she thought Gerty intended her no harm at this point but one could never be certain. Gerty walked over and came face to face with Charlotte and said,

“We are but ruins of this world Charlotte. Daddio’s have come and taken everything and we must now take it all back. Suffer to end all suffering. Hate to love again. Tear out the heart so it can find its beat.”

Charlotte looked deep into the darkness which was Gerty’s eyes and said,

“I’m not a killer Gerty. I just can’t do it no matter how much I hate.”

Gerty smiled softly and kissed Charlotte tenderly on the lips.

“That’s what you have me for sweetheart.”

Gerty turned and walked back toward Melvin who continued to quietly sob on the floor.

“Fritzy could you cut Uncle Melvin free. I don’t think we will need those cords anymore.”

Fritz produced a knife from his jacket and came over and cut free Melvin’s wrists and ankles. Melvin rolled over and got to his hands and knees Blood dripped from his chin as he tried to stand.

“Careful Uncle Melvin you have had quite a day. I wouldn’t want you to fall down and hurt yourself.”

Gerty was slowly circling Melvin as she watched him struggle.

Round and round and round we go
It’s a fucking daddio
it’s the truth and not a lie
Uncle Melvin’s going to die

Gerty made no effort toward Melvin and seemed content to recite the rhyme and walk circles around him.

“Fritzy could you help Uncle Melvin into the back room. Charlotte seems a bit uncomfortable with all of this.”

Fritz grabbed Melvin by the collar and dragged him through the archway to the dining room. Melvin was now out of sight from Gerty and Charlotte. Fritz threw him against the built-in bookstand and wagged his finger at him.

“Now don’t go anywhere. The party’s not over yet.”

Fritz came back to the archway and leaned against the wall where he could keep his eye on Charlotte and Melvin. Gerty had gone over to Charlotte again and was whispering to her.

Charlotte you can come with Fritzy and me if you want. We will take care of you and love you. There is nothing left here for you.

Gerty slowly pulled Charlotte’s panties down and pressed her groin against hers.

“I know you want to…..

There was a loud “pop pop”

The girls turned towards Fritz and saw a small grimaced look on his face. Fritz turned back towards the dining room and started walking back towards Melvin. Both girls noticed Fritz had been shot in the shoulder and mid back. Fritz staggered but seemed determined to get to Melvin.

Charlotte was frozen in placed as Gerty rushed in behind Fritz. Melvin sat braced against the bookstand with a small caliber handgun wavering before him. Fritz’s knees buckled and he collapsed on his legs but stayed up right as if kneeling in prayer. Melvin fired again hitting Fritz in the shoulder once more.

Gerty charged Melvin as if bullet-proof. Melvin fired his three remaining shots in Gerty’s direction. His weakened condition made his aim erratic and Gerty was unscathed. Charlotte had overcome her shock and entered the room to see Fritz topple backwards and then roll on his side. Charlotte knelt down to Fritz and took his head into her lap.

Gerty stood over Melvin as he continued to pull the trigger to no avail. The click-click of the gun echoed in the dining room. Gerty seemed to be appraising the situation and unconcerned of Fritz’s dire condition. A drawer in the stand was hanging open where Melvin had produced the gun. A box of cartridges was inside and Gerty pulled the gun from Melvin’s hand.

“Fritzy told me always know your ammo count Uncle Melvin. I guess you didn’t get the memo.”

Gerty set down her knife on the shelf. She dug into the box and started the reload the revolver. Charlotte held Fritz who seemed determined to show no sign of pain or suffering as he lay dying on the dining room floor. Once Gerty had reloaded the gun she picked up her knife and said,

“Hold this for me would you Uncle Melvin?”

Gerty slammed the knife into Melvin’s chest and left it deeply embedded into his flesh. Melvin screamed in agony Gerty took advantage of the reaction. She shoved the barrel of the gun into Melvin’s gaping mouth slamming his head against bookshelf drawers.

“Open wide and say aaah.”

Gerty ripped the knife out of Melvin’s’ chest only to stab him again just below his neck. She pulled the gun out of his mouth and shot him in the groin. Melvin was fading fast due to blood loss. Gerty leaned right into his face and said.

“Bouncy bouncy bouncy ball”

With those words Gerty stepped back shoving the gun into Melvin’s torn eye socket and pulled the trigger. Melvin’s skull and brain splattered against the bookshelf leaving a flower of death running down to the floor. Gerty stared at the dead man singing under her breath.

Hey ho whata you know
one less fucking daddio

Oh Fritz!!
Just so you know....I could never watch this on a movie screen. It would be too violent. Strange how I can read it though.

How the hell did I miss this for so long? Excellent description of violence.

So did Fritzy ever utter a single word? I don't think he did.
