I feel like all my entries are the same currently.
Summer is 1/2 over (we go back to work mid August).
Last I wrote- we had strep AGAIN. Well that was based on the typical rapid test they do in office- they sent one out to a lab because we had no redness/sore throats…ended up the lab came back negative but they forgot to call so we did 10 days of antibiotics again! Ugh.
Went to NY for 14 days…Chloe and I were sick most of it…Chloe was much worse than me. It was classified as a virus (she got it at the babysitter’s before we left). It began as a cough and loss of appetite. It turned into a cough, runny nose, no eating/drinking and high fevers till she’d throw up nightly. She was miserable for 12 days. I was lacking sleep (she only slept 2-3 hrs a night) and I was away from my husband and cranky/upset plus I had a lighter version of it…coughing, no appetite and low fevers. Overall NY visit was nice but we were isolated due to the virus…we stayed with my parents and saw a few people but didn’t do much..saw no friends except my alcoholic friend who finally checked into rehab the week we left. Celebrated my father turning 80 years old with a party at a park. He loved it and he hates parties!
We returned and Chloe went two days to the sitter because I had to have a tooth pulled and a hair appointment. Chloe picked up ANOTHER virus there. She was diagnosed with a virus that had a rash (non contagious once the rash appears). Her “friends” got something similar but not quite the same…they were diagnosed by the same doctors with Hand-Foot-Mouth disease. Each parent had a different story on when they were contagious/not contagious. Nobody had fevers/loss of appetite according to their parents yet they all barely ate “because it was hot” the week leading up to the rash. They didn’t have fevers but “were warm because it was hot” the week before the rash. Chloe, Mike and I all had 2 days of stomach aches and headaches and we all ended up with a rash. Mike and I had it on our backs/butts/arms/stomach while Chloe had it head to toe EXCEPT her face, mouth, soles, and palms (all the places you get HFM). Well since she had a rash and I’m not positive if she is contagious, I decided to potty train her this week. I expected a disaster because she was screaming if she went near the toilet the last few weeks (whole other issues/story).
It’s been 4.5 days and she has used 2 diapers per 24 hrs (bedtime/naptime). She had 2 pee accidents per day except yesterday she had 3. She has pooped in the toilet every day so far. She’s trying hard but she is stubborn and will only sit on a potty when she wants to. I am going to do pull-ups this weekend because we will be out a lot with the 4th of July holiday weekend going on. I hate pull-ups but I can’t expect her to hold it/tell me when we are out yet. She’s not even 2 and she has very little ability to hold it when she needs to go.
Not pregnant. Not happy. Seeing my ob/gyn in 2 weeks. Hoping he has some guidance/answers.
