33 weeks and Moving In in My Metamorphosis

OMG to say I’m overwhelmed and exhausted would be an understatement. Last Tuesday we closed on our new house! I still can’t believe I own my own home. It is scary and I got serious cold feet right before signing, but I’m happy we took the plunge. Though after the first night in our house, I was having serious buyers remorse. I liked the home we created in our little rental house, ya know? I feel like so many good things happened there, I feel like I’m throwing it all away. I don’t know, maybe I’m just being overly emotional - thank you pregnancy hormones.

Anyway, so we closed Tuesday and started moving in Friday. We worked our asses off all weekend. I was not ready to go back to work on Monday - and it’s Wednesday and I’m still just so tired. So we got the bulk of the stuff out of our old house and a good portion of it is unpacked and situated. There is still plenty of stuff at the old house, but mostly stuff that needs to be sifted through and thrown away before hauling it over to the new house.

Closing Day:

My parents and brother were a HUGE help with moving in. My little brother Reid just came back from Scotland after 2+ years studying physical therapy there and my dad was unexpectedly visiting because his sister just died and he had come down for the funeral. The people who were SUPPOSED to help never showed, so thank God my dad and brother were there to help. Despite them helping with all the major stuff, there is still SO much to do! I am NEVER moving again! It is a huge pain in the ass, especially at 8 months pregnant in the middle of the summer in South Georgia!

The family room is starting to come together. We got that couch and a new chair/ottoman and rug. I was hoping to have the room painted BEFORE we moved in, but I didn’t have enough time to find someone to do it. So imagine the green walls are more of a gray-blue:

I tried to do a panoramic - were sitting on the stairs right after we closed and trying to soak it all in. We couldn’t believe this is all ours!

I will post more pics of the house as it comes together.

On July 8th Cassidy turned 12! This weekend she’s having a pool/slumber birthday party at my mom’s house.

We went out to eat for her birthday and then had my mom and brother over for a DQ ice cream cake:

Zion just went back to Atlanta on Monday. He was actually a big help in the move - he did whatever we told him and didn’t complain about it. Even though he wasn’t the pain I was expecting this summer, I am still relieved to be somewhat back to normal and our normal routine, whatever that is. Cassidy starts school in two weeks, I have three baby showers over the next three weeks, and somehow have to squeeze in unpacking/cleaning, and starting on the nursery. Oh speaking of baby, I had my 32 week ultrasound last week. Bradley got to come with me and everything looks good! It’s still a boy :( but he’s healthy and head down. The dr said he’s about 4lb4oz right now and will probably be between 8-9 pounds. Cassidy was 8-8, I was afraid he might be too big, but she said he’s measuring perfectly! I am huge and uncomfortable and so ready to not be pregnant anymore. I just have to keep telling myself, 7 more weeks, 7 more weeks…
