The weather this summer has been spectacular. Which means the summer people come and stay, and stay, and stay. Clogging the roads and the stores and the beaches.
My annual lament! Just when the weather turns perfect you can’t go anywhere or do anything because of all the traffic.
There is an almost tropical breeze blowing through the apartment. I love seeing the curtains moving as the breeze makes its way through.
I survived another trip around the sun. My birthday was Saturday. I celebrated by watching a couple of movies and grilling the biggest Porterhouse Hannaford’s had. This year we are collapsing all the birthday festivities around Brian’s birthday, since his birthday fall directly in the middle.
Six August birthdays. Sheesh.
I started cleaning out my freezer and refrigerator of anything that isn’t “whole” food. All the processed stuff went out with the trash this morning. I am trying to clean up my eating habits.
A new Crossfit gym opened at Merrymeeting Plaza, which would be walking distance away - if it weren’t for the freaking Bath Road and all the crazy traffic that road gets.
That reminds me of a time I was at an “off site” in Camarillo California. The hotel they put us up in was on one side of the road, and the conference center where the meetings were happening was on the other. I got up, showered, dressed and figured I would just walk.
I got another lesson in California. There was absolutely no way to cross the road. I finally went and jumped into the rental car. Waited at the light. Turned right. Turned left into the parking lot and parked. So freaking ridiculous. 1/8th of a mile from my room.
It is about 3/4 of a mile from here to the new gym. There is no way to get there at 7am - when the morning workout starts - without driving. The bath road is six lanes of traffic that never stops in the early morning.
Tonight I do declare I am going to have grilled sea scallop, shrimp and vegetable skewers. Maybe a salad.
Nothing on the job front. I notice almost every retailer has “now hiring” signs out. That is entry level shit. I am miles from entry level and not desperate.
Out and about today I went to BB&B to pick up some of those green vegetable storage sets.
The cashier was the most unbelievably gorgeous little lady. My checkout was very professional, but I was wearing shades, so yep, I did stare.
The way the checkout is set up you have to exit to the left and go behind the cashiers. So, yeah, I checked right. Oh my gawd that ass! I was mouthing OMG as I passed one of the managers going the other way. He mouthed “I know!”
That would be torture to have to work there.
