Crossover dream in Life and musings of an old mom-to-be

I just had the coolest crossover dream between Shameless and The Walking Dead. Weird, considering I haven’t watched either in over a month (maybe I’m missing them?). Anyway, it was the family from Shameless, but with zombies. Talk about action filled! And everyone was a f*ck up. I’d taken Daniel to sleep with me cos it was freezing last night, and he ended my dream with a kick, the way ten-month-old babies do. So that was that.

He’s been sick again, poor sweet. Seems like he just can’t get healthy. I went to pick him up from day care last friday and the teachers said he’d been “weird”, fussy and kind of down. Sure enough, he was burning up. To make matters worse I had my monthly “Simon meeting” (Simon is a regular housecall patient, he’s got home care so I oversee his rehabilitation, which means I have to get together with his rehabilitation team once a month. We’re 11 people in all, so it’s no mean feat, and definitely NOT something that can be postponed) and no babysitter, so I had to take him. It was so freakin cold. I stuck the thermometer sticker on his forehead and it read 100ºF, so I gave him some baby tylenol and hoped for the best. He was feverish all Friday night and Saturday… but he’s been ok today and hope it keeps. I’m still keeping him home tomorrow and the day after.

I love my kid and my cat to pieces, but man, they were both so high maintenance today I felt like knocking their Little heads together! I wouldn’t, of course… but between the cat whining for food and the kid whining to be “walked”, I was ready to explode. ROFL. Ok, it’s funny NOW, but it wasn’t at the time. Makes me feel guilty as hell that I lost my patience with them.
