What year did you graduate?
2006.

Did you know your spouse?
Nope.

Did you car pool to school?
With my sister…I drove ;)

What kind of car did you have?
A 1993 Ford Tempo. We called her the Tampax because she was the same color blue as the Tampax box. Bought it all on my own after I saved up about 2 years.

What kind of car do you have now?
A 2002 Doge Neon, bought from the same guy I bought the Ford Tempo from.

It is Friday night…where are you?
Dancing at a football game (I was the head of the dance team) or hanging with my boyfriend.

What kind of job did you have in high school?
Freshman and sophomore year I worked at CVS in the pharmacy (had to wear a lab coat and everything). I was getting a little more than minimum wage, so it was good. Then minimum wage was raised, but my pay did not increase, so I left. Worked at a BBQ restaurant (where both of my sisters worked) and I taught dance at my dance school. And babysitting. Always babysitting!

What kind of job do have now?
I am an elementary general music teacher.

Were you a party animal?
I had some parties in my day, but I wouldn’t say I was a party animal.

Were you considered a jock?
No. I was a dancer, so not considered athletic. Which is really funny because dancing is very athletic. I hate sports though.

Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
ORCHESTRA! I had the worst orchestra teacher, but I loved it. I was also in Tri-M music honors society, but we really didn’t do anything. I also took music theory because I had decided I was going to music school for college. I almost got into the AP class, but I was 1 point off.

Were you a nerd?
I would say I’m more of a nerd now than I was then.

Did you get suspended or expelled?
No way! I couldn’t risk being kicked off dance team. It was my life!

Can you sing the fight song?
We didn’t have a fight song…there was this slow song that the cheerleaders would do this performance to. They would sit in a clump with the large, floppy pom-pons (yes thats what they are, not pom-poms!) and move them in different ways to spell out my schools’ name.

Who was/were your favorite high school teachers?
My music theory teacher, Ms. Star, and my private violin teacher, Mr. Gumpper (he took over the high school program after I graduated, but I had him for elementary and middle school and privately), and one of my English teacher, Mr. McCann. He was amazing! I’ll always remember leaf day, where we went out into the courtyard and he read us Keats :)

Where did you sit at lunch?
The satellite cafeteria. My school had a BIG overhaul and expansion when I entered high school and it was completed my junior year. We had two cafeterias, got a bigger auditorium and a second gymnasium. I liked the satellite cafeteria because it was open and brighter and it didn’t smell like the other closed off cafeteria.

What was your school’s full name?
Shenendehowa Central High School. The campus is built on old Native American land, so all of the schools have Native American names.

What was your school mascot?
the Plainsmen. Originally, our mascot was a Native American with a large headdress and a tomahawk. There was a huge controversy when I was a junior that the mascot was derogatory and needed to be changed. My school had a contest to get a new mascot. Students had to draw a picture and we all voted. We ended up going with a green horse that had a mane similar to the Native Americans’ headdress.

If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Yes! I loved senior year. I had lots of freedom and I had a great time in school. I had a good group of friends, a job, a boyfriend, a car…I really had the life. I love my life now, but I would go back and do it again, maybe make some different choices.

Did you have fun at Prom?
Yes! Prom was awesome! I was able to get my dream dress and I wore a tiara (yup I was that girl) and went with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I got some friends together and I taught them the thriller dance and we performed it at prom. It was epic! Such a fun night.

Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?
No :( We had a bad breakup sophomore year of college. I haven’t spoken to him since. He blocked me on Facebook.

Are you planning on going to your next class reunion?
This year was my 10 year reunion, but nothing happened. I’ll go if there is one planned.

Are you still in contact with people from school?
A few. Mainly on Facebook. I still am very close with two friends from high school. They were both in my wedding. One was my maid of honor and I see her regularly because she lives about 20 minutes from me and the other is going to be Freddie’s godmother :)

What are/were your school’s colors?
Forest green and white (hence the green horse). I actually really liked my schools colors. They were classy and not too loud and they went together very well.
