First day of July and 1/2 way thru 16 in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Was up extra early yesterday morning. I was in some pain and uncomfortable after the series of squeezing, pressing, and prodding on Wednesday. The left side was the one that received all the attention on Wednesday and I believe the ultra sound wand was the instrument that created the soreness. That test took a while and pressing down and swirling the little wand around so she could take the stills became a bit uncomfortable at times. Really glad it is over and so thankful I was given the “all clear”.

I had O here yesterday and that will be a standard Thursday thing unless there is an appointment for someone I have to take or go to. He could go with us in most cases but we’ll just take that as it comes.

It threatened rain and storms even at 4 yesterday morning and I could see lightening in the far off sky. We finally received some rain after 6 last night and I was just about to do some watering when it finally decided to release the moisture. Still no ripe tomatoes but did pick another cucumber for supper. Yum.

I have a critter getting in my metal trash barrels. We can’t put the trash in the barrels ahead of time, or the critter rips the bags apart and scatters the trash all over. I have a little red wagon that I’m using to put the trash bags in until trash morning and will talk to the trash man on Tues AM when I pull the wagon down there. I can hear the truck coming for a pretty good distance before he actually gets here, but thought maybe changing the location of the barrels will help. If anyone would know, I’d think it would be him.

Long night last for several hours last night. RLS would not settle down even with 2Xs as many prescription pills. Finally after taking the 4th pill, it stopped and I went to sleep. Then at 1 or so in the morning, I woke up sick to my stomach. I think that was caused my sinus drainage, and will give no more details about that little time in my night.

Woke up when the standard call came into my phone from Dad’s gizmo. It hasn’t been working correctly for months and it is suppose to be used in case he falls, or needs help. The machine automatically calls my number, but the thing is, he never wears the “alert” part. Now it calls to say it is not in “range” every.single.morning. at 6:25AM. It had been calling me every evening at 6:25 PM a month ago. So that is what woke me up this morning, which is a first cause usually I’m already up by then.

I paused in writing to pick some beans. I picked almost as many as last time and the other tub is just now beginning to show blooms so this “beans in containers” is working out great. If only my tomatoes would get ripe. I keep waiting and waiting and …well you know. All of the plants have had green tomatoes on them for weeks so I know they will all get ripe on the same day. lol Small ones, purple ones, striped ones, and the big beef ones. I’m going to have a tomato sandwich as soon as one of the big ones ripen.

Finished the camo baby quilt top yesterday. My plan for today is to pin the sandwich together. I’ve got the top ironed but need to iron the backing fabric and then I’ll do the sandwich. I’m actually thinking about making it a self binding quilt, but I’ll decide that at the moment, I’m sure. I will post a picture of it when it’s done.

Time to do something else and since A’s having an early b’day party for O here at my house tomorrow I need to do some dusting and vacuum. Have to clean off the bar too as that seems to be a never ending job for me. If only.

Take care and God Bless and thank you all for your happiness for me on the test results. Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July weekend!

Sorry to hear of the leg flare-up. That wake-up call every morning would make me nuts! Raccoons get into our trash so we put it out in the morning. Otherwise, our business is all over the road. LOL!

Yep, what I'm going to have to do too. Our trash truck arrives around 5:30 A.M., which isn't so bad in the summer, but in the winter it will be pitch dark out by the barrels. "Shivers"

Are they out as much during winter? Are the neighbors having trouble, too. 5:30 is TOO early!

middle age pearl ConnieK ⋅ July 02, 2016

Yes, the Raccoons are year round critters. My closet neighbor is 1/2 mile from me, and I don't think so. (It's my Dad, btw), I normally get up between 4:45-5:00 most morning anyway. But not to take out the trash. lol

So relieved for you that you got the "all clear."

Your entries always make me feel so lazy! But then, I'm much older than you...

I can't wait for some fresh green beans! I buy mine at a local farmer's market but they aren't ready for another month or so. And fresh cucumbers....the best!
I second common's question....did they figure out the pain's cause yet?

middle age pearl cardslinger ⋅ July 03, 2016

No. But they suspect my guess at gas is correct. Lots of money to find out I'm fine. lol

Mom's medic alert used to call the Sheriff's office every morning at 2 am. They would then call her. They had her bring it in to reprogram it.
