Strange days indeed.

The day started with me getting up at 430 in the morning because it was too cold in the bedroom. I had the window cracked, the fans were off. Turns out it was 22° outside. I rolled around and pulled up the extra blanket and started go back to sleep, when this bird decided to start doing its mating call outside my window. Basically sounds like “beep, boop.” Repeated every 3 seconds. At that point I realized I just cut my losses and get the hell out of bed.

I came downstairs, turned on the light over my computer. And the light popped.

I really can’t complain because I bought that lamp five years ago. So the halogen bulb in it has been working overtime for five years. It actually show and down on my desk through all of my schoolwork to get my MBA. I feel like I should give it a little funeral.

The guys working on reroofing the apartment complex moved my front porch chair out into the middle of the yard. In between all of their piles of garbage and roofing material and whatnot. When I saw that I had decided I should probably move it somewhere else so that it doesn’t disappear when they leave finally. So I did.

I finished watching last night’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead. Nothing creepy at all about them exploring the wreckage of that aircraft crash. Nothing creepy at all. It’s weird because the blonde girl in fear is one of the actors that was in lost. And those scenes on the beach actually felt a lot like some of the early episodes of lost because there is a huge aircraft that was in pieces all over a beach. Except this time there are also zombies.

Like I said nothing creepy at all.

So after watching that and an episode of crowded, I took a shower and lunch out of here to do some buying. I went to Staples to see if I could find a replacement halogen bulb for my lamp. And of course I could not because even though I bought the desk lamp at Staples, apparently they no longer carry lamps or bulbs for said lamps except at the beginning of the school year. So I had to order one which will be delivered sometime tomorrow.

If things seem a little disjointed. Because I can’t see my keyboard and him having to use the Dragon.

I wonder if that’s a sign of things to come that brick-and-mortar stores are going to stop carrying things that you would consider relatively essential, and start relying more and more on online sales. I mean Staples is an office supply place, what kind of office supply place doesn’t have desk lamps?

But all was not lost in that little piece of my jaunt. I tried out a bunch of different desk chairs. I guess chairs get a little long in the tooth. It sits too low in is not really all that comfortable. The first one I tried would certainly work, but I couldn’t find the price tag and I wasn’t really in a buying kind of mood.

Next on the list was to buy a replacement flag. My year old flag was getting threadbare. So I went to target with two things in mind. To get a replacement flag and to look for some long sleeve Henleys. The Merona Henleys are pretty comfortable so I figure I picked up a couple more.

Any chance there are any in stock? Nope.

But I did get a pretty cool flag and flagpole. One of my complaints of keeping my flag flying year-round is the way the wind will furl the flag. So almost every morning I find myself outside having to unfurl the tangled flag from the flagpole. But now I have this cool flagpole that rotates. So every time the wind blows the flag up and over the pole, the whole pole rotates. Problem solved.

So it’s April 25. You know all we have on tap for tomorrow morning? Well I have a dental appointment. And we’re supposed to get an inch of snow. I swear we will have gotten more snow during official calendar Spring then we get all winter. Luckily it’s warm enough now that it’s not going to stick it is just going to make everything sloppy.

I haven’t watched last night’s season six opener of a Game of Thrones. That is because I am not finished reading watching the end of season five. I don’t know how they expect you to keep up with a show that is as complicated as GoT when they take off the better part of a year between episodes. Sheesh. Seven families probably at least 60 characters, and all of the interrelationships between the families and the characters. And really you go seven months before giving us the next episode? Who the fuck can keep up with this stuff?

Jenn Wilke, a small-town girl from a small town in Texas decided when she turned 30 that she was going to be a playboy playmate. Incredibly shy, she went for it. Unfortunately playboy doesn’t have playmates anymore. But she did get some play on their online site, and now has a following of well over 2 million people.

She posted this picture yesterday. And within the hour had 16,000 the likes. It is at 22,000 now.

She posted a YouTube video thanking everybody. Most of the stuff she posts on her Facebook page are pictures with no makeup, no lingerie, just her and her cat. The YouTube video made her seem so approachable, and real no wonder everybody falls in love with her.

Looks like photobucket has crashed.

I will most likely have to edit this, but right now I can’t see my keyboard. Because I don’t have a desk light.
