Catching Up is Hard to Do in Understanding the Unthinkable

Sorry to be lax in writing. We’ve had a bit of an Easter uprising with a few people at church eye roll so I’m doing extra volunteer stuff on top of the new ministry of reaching out in concrete ways to young people 17 through 35, and of course, there is Easter dinner to plan. That’s on top of the usual busyness at work! Oh, and I forgot…I’m also teaching the Life Group study.

I’m wary of the upcoming anniversary of Nick’s passing and will probably avoid facebook. I gave it up for Lent and man, what a great gift I gave myself! LOL!

We’re gearing up for Gypsywynd’s kitchen remodel. The shop smells of fresh cut lumber, a smell I’ve grown to love. I have yet to see the backsplash tile, which worries me. I don’t like ordering construction supplies online. We usually work with the big box stores and I don’t think we’ll do it again. There may be a very good reason why they don’t carry those brands, ya know?

Gotta scoot. We’re co-signing for youngest to buy his second house and I probably should pull myself together…it’s Easter, after all, not Halloween! LOL!

Love you all, hope the Easter bunny is good to you and for those who are believers: He is risen!

Happy Easter to you too.

Hello! Good to "see" you again! :)

GypsyWynd March 25, 2016

Happy Easter! (check your email).
I do have a back up choice for the tile from Lowe's. It's pricier, though.......so I'm hoping the one you ordered comes through.
A second house? When is he going to buy his own plane? :)

ConnieK GypsyWynd ⋅ March 25, 2016

I think I have the Lowe's backup, but its also online ordering. I'm going to check on it next week.
Second house is to fix up & sell or rent in 2 years.

GypsyWynd ConnieK ⋅ March 25, 2016

And THEN he can buy his plane!

ConnieK GypsyWynd ⋅ March 25, 2016

LOL! He got his next level license (instrument only flying), so one more level. I saw one that seats about 10 that looked fairly safe. I say he gets that one and then flies us back & forth so's we can visit more often. :)

GypsyWynd ConnieK ⋅ March 25, 2016

I think that's a great idea!! He can run his own charter service (and we'll be his best customers!)

ConnieK GypsyWynd ⋅ March 25, 2016

Well, I don't mind paying for the fuel, but, c'mon...the Mom card gets played here! Some things are payback for giving him life! LOL!

Shattered March 25, 2016

I love the smell of sawdust! :) Relax and HAVE A VERY HAPPY EASTER! Doc's orders! ;)

ConnieK Shattered ⋅ March 25, 2016

I'm looking forward to Easter...life is just crazy busy right now. I have plenty of sawdust for you! LOL!

QueenSuzu March 26, 2016

Have been thinking about you with nick's anniversary date coming up and dreading it for you, giving you virtual hugs in advance. Don't mind the smell of saw dust myself.

ConnieK QueenSuzu ⋅ March 26, 2016

Thanks. I have no idea how I'll do. I've never done this before, so it's all so new to me. I've lost a lot of people (MIL, FIL, Mom, Dad, younger bro, etc.), but losing a kid is just mind boggling. I need to do something about his ashes.

Ferret Mom March 27, 2016

Sounds like you are keeping busy. :)

Anniversaries of deaths are hard. It brings everything back.

Hi ConnieK. I've read so much about you in GypsyWynd's diary, I thought it time to "meet" you myself. She had also mentioned you had posted pictures of her stuff, but maybe not. I can't remember anything from one minute to the next. I will take time to back-read and get to know you. Hope you don't mind. I think it is wonderful you guys are taking care of the remodel for them. Take care

Hello Pearl. It is nice to meet you. The entry you're looking for is probably a friends-only book. I'll see if it can't be moved to a public book tomorrow. Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading some of your entries, as well. :)
