The Plan on pause today in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

I worked most of the morning on dad’s large box of receipts for 2015. Lots of sorting, some throwing away, but mostly sorting. Then put all the information in my spreadsheet and there were a couple of items I knew he’d purchased but no receipts, so when he called me today to see if he could down and have me read some mail he’d gotten we got that squared away. Thankfully he had his checkbook with him so I could look them up in there. He usually sends his check registers or his bank statements, but not this time. All is good and I will take his paperwork and my paperwork to the accountant either today or tomorrow. She’ll have them done in just a couple of days then I’ll write a big check for my tax prep and possible another for dad’s tax prep. But at least that will be done and gone.

So by the time I finished up the issue he thought he had with the paper he’d gotten in the mail and finished up the spreadsheet, I decided to work on the sewing project he’d asked me to do for him. So today the only think I accomplished in reference to “the plan” was to find the power cord to J’s old game console which gave me much satisfaction and relief. I also made some vegetable beef soup and used a couple of hamburger patties left from Easter grilling. I peeled and chopped a couple of potatoes and some onion and then chopped the beef and added frozen mix vegetables. I then added 1/2 can of diced tomatoes and 1/2 small can of tomato sauce. It could use more salt, but I will refrain and eat it as is. Must watch my salt intake lately. This afternoon I made a meatloaf which is in the oven as I write this. I had a cup of the soup for a late lunch and now have the rest of it in containers to freeze. Thanks to all of you who shared that wonderful idea on your diaries.

It had been cloudy most of the morning and this afternoon it decided to empty the clouds for a bit. We can use some more rain, and believe we’ll get more this evening and overnight. Not sure it will rain tomorrow but if it does it does. I may meet sister for lunch tomorrow and if I do I will go the accountants and then check the feed store to see if the flax seed came in that was back ordered.

I did wash and dry 3 loads of clothes for myself this morning and have 2 of 3 folded and put away. The 3d load is still in the dryer and I will get it out after the entry or maybe after supper. LOL or maybe in the AM. The last load was my “home” clothes which consist of sweat shirts and sweat pants so I don’t feel the urgency to get them all done since I use them right now.

Tonight is Survivor night. This has been a physically rough survivor on the players. They’ve had a couple removed/medically from the game. I suppose the the players have to sign a release to participate or they wouldn’t have them in such high risk areas. The heat and dehydration was the culprit for one of the players and can’t remember why the other one was medically taken out.

Anyone watch “The Good Wife”? It will end this season and they have things on full speed ahead or full speed to crash. Not sure what’s going to happen but the actors and actresses are all good on this show. The kids weren’t much, but the adults are so good. Saw the one guy that plays a lawyer on the Gilmore girls. Didn’t know he was on that show first. But then again, I just have a few shows that I “must” see and this is one of them. Going to miss it I think.

Oh my goodness the inside of my right ear is itching so going to end this entry and get a Qtip and see if I can make it stop.

Take care and God Bless

I have watched the Good Wife. I enjoyed it. But I forget what day and time it is on so haven't seen it for awhile.

It's fun to kick back and watch favorite shows, isn't it? I do that off and on all day, even when I am working around the house. Company for me, a people person who lives alone. Both shows you mentioned I watch now. Plus, I love getting individual servings of homemade soup from the freezer for lunches. So quick and easy and way better than canned soup. You are so busy. Great of you to help your dad red taxes and expenses. My daughter Kim does that for me.
