I have stopped doing thankfulnesses regularly and so, on a day I am not feeling too good about myself, it turns out to be Thankfulness Day!

I am thankful that I have lived as long as I have. There are a few things about being 81 that I am not happy about, but I AM alive!

I am thankful for the few certain foods that give me no internal problems at all. Plain bagels, different kinds of oatmeal, a few raw veggies are all good and have no repercussions!

I am extremely thankful for being an introvert. I enjoy my own company. I always find something to do or read or think about.

I am thankful for reading. I have been a fluent reader since I was four. That means I have been reading for 77 years!

I am thankful for the sunshine. Right now I can look out of a floor-to-ceiling sliding door and see the sunshine, green grass, and a pale-blue sky dotted with fluffy clouds.

Although I can’t say I enjoy taking them, I AM grateful for the daily medications.

So far, I am grateful for my new primary doctor. He treats me like an adult, not a person who isn’t quite reliable because she is old. An example: he asked if I wanted to up the number of the tiny little pills I take daily to help with seeping liquid part of diarrhea. Of course I do. The prescription went from 60 to 100. That stuff helps me to have peace of mind. I take two at a time twice a day and he said that if I could manage on less or need occasionally to take one more, it was certainly my choice as long as I didn’t exceed the four a day. A doctor giving me a choice? Wow!

I am grateful that the two plants I repotted seem to be doing well. The large one that Jake gave me last Mother’s Day or for my birthday, is doing excellently. The Christmas cactus seems to be losing one of the three branches, so we shall see.

I had a very restless night and actually didn’t get to sleep until 4 AM or thereabouts so I am going to straighten the bed and go for a nap. I am grateful to Jake for buying this very comfortable king-size bed for me!

So much to be thankful for and it is so in many lives, I believe.

if we all just stop and take stock, i think we'd find a lot of things to be thankful for every day. it's good to write the gratitudes down so we can read them. take care,

These are great and a very positive way to look at the changes that happens as we get older. Kudos!
