There are more important things in My this and that

I’m very prone to feeling down… it happens so easily, and I don’t like it. I want the joy of the Lord to always be in my heart and mind, so that I remember that life is about more than just what is playing on my emotions at the moment.

I’m reading a book now called “Church Behind the Wire” written by a man named Barnabas Mam who found Christ in the midst of communism, survived the Killing Fields, lived for years in a refugee camp where he started many churches, and now works for Ambassadors for Christ International.

He has been through hell on earth. He survived a holocaust, his own people killing his own people, millions murdered. Most of his family was killed, along with most of his friends. But you look at his face, you hear him speak, you listen to what he has to say; and all you can see is the joy of the Lord.

And in light of those things… who cares if taking the stairs winds me, who cares if my lungs aren’t perfect, or my acne has flared up… there is so much to do for the Kingdom! There is so much work to be done, telling others about my hope in Christ!
