My BFF nominated me to do a nature photography challenge through Facebook so I went out today and took some photos around the place. Unfortunately, the lighting wasn’t the best and with the lack of snow we’ve had this year, everything just looks plain dingy.

So I ran them through paint.net and played around with them…and then decided to promote the software a bit by posting the “before” and “after” versions. I really love that software and it’s free. It’s what I used to make the covers of all the books in my paranormal fantasy series - you can do layers of images and then add text on top of that. And it has so many neat effects - ink sketch/oil painting/pencil sketch, tons of different distortions, sharpening of images, softening of images, saturation and hue elements…the list goes on and on.

So here’s some of the saturation and hue alterations in action.
