freddie is 2 months old tomorrow! i cant believe it! hes gotta be about 12lbs by now. he gets his shots tomorrow and im worried how hes going to take it. my mom said to give him some infant tylenol about an hour before we go. we have a play date with penelope at gymboree at noon and our appointment is at 2:15, so i think after play time, im going to give him the tylenol when hes eating. dann doesnt want me to, but if its going to help with the pain and maybe help him sleep a little, then im all for it! i also think he started teething this week, which is a little early, but hes got all the symptoms, plus teething can start a couple months before any teeth show up. gonna ask the doctor tomorrow!

my sister got married!! my older sister ashley and her boyfriend of about 10 years time got married on 1/3. it was a small ceremony at their favorite sushi spot. very nicely put together. they look very happy :) my sister isnt changing her name, which i find awesome. theyre so progressive lol. she loves who she is and it isnt a thing to them to have the same name, so why change it? she looked radiant. she did a whole 60’s vintage vibe with a tea length dress (white with large blue flowers on it), lace gloves, birdcage veil and pearls. very beautiful. i had to leave right after cake because i had to head back to work the next day and had about a 2 hour drive ahead of me, but im glad we made the trip out.

transitioning back to work has been surprisingly smooth and easy. my students are grateful to have me back (i havent had any serious behavior issues…just one rowdy class i had to speak sternly to last week…i also have them last period of the day on a friday, so that doesnt help) and im actually happy to be back. i had my second observation too and it went very well! i was dreading it and cried the entire night before. but freddie is adjusting well to the babysitter and dann has him twice a week at home, so that helps a lot. im also not stressing about work like i was the last two years. its not that im not growing as a teacher, but ive settled into my own teaching style, im modifying what i need to for my students when i need to and im leaving work at work. when im home (for the most part) im with my family. that was hard for me the last two years. having the baby is making that so much easier. yes, i still need to plan on the weekends, but i do it when freddie is sleeping so i dont miss time with him.

our friends son arrived last thursday, 1/14! he was about the same size as freddie, one ounce heavier and 2 inches longer. we visited them on friday at the hospital and are planning on cooking them dinner and hanging out at their place next friday. its exciting to have another friend for freddie!

dann is starting to look for a new job, probably out of his field. he is tired of the funeral business. with the baby, he wants more regular hours and needs a BIG pay increase. he still wants to be in the health business, but selling insurance or being a drug rep or something. hopefully he can find something soon!

christmas was busy and a little overwhelming. we did too much and went too many places, but it was good to see a bunch of people i havent seen in about a year or more. glad freddie didnt get too many presents lol. my car is not very big! sometimes i wish i lived closer to my family…who knows. dann and i have toyed with the idea of moving upstate. he could find a job working in a hospital morgue and i could find a teaching job pretty easy. his family still wants us to move to florida…so we’ll see what happens in the next few years!
life is wonderful. im loving being a mommy and starting to cherish all the little moments. i almost want to have another baby lol. later!
