I had an entry written in here, got busy with the baby, and forgot about it. it was written completely in anger and hurt, so i discarded it. i needed to get those feelings out at the time, but theyre over now.

again, i screwed up at work. the screw up is now fixed, but shit happens. in hot water again with my principal, but whats new this year!

the breakfast with the orchestra concert went great! this is a little concert teaser for the parents to see what their child has been doing in orchestra. we were a little behind this year, since i had to leave to have my baby, but i got them back on track very quickly. my substitute basically did nothing with my orchestra while i was away (for whatever reason, he didnt use the orchestra expressions books at all!) so i returned to my students exactly how i left them. i got them back on track and we are moving full speed ahead! administration was not very happy about the length of the concert, however they wouldnt listen to me when i tried to tell them this was a concert teaser and the main portion of the concert was supposed to be the breakfast and mingling with parents. SO! whatever…nothing i can do now. if i had one more week, my orchestra would have learned one more song. i worked my ass off to get my students to where they needed to be for this concert without changing the date, so im happy with myself and them.

since the winter concert sucked and this concert was short, but fabulous, administration asked me to send them all of my units for the rest of the year to see what each grade will be covering in my classes and i had to meet with my assistant principal to discuss the spring concert. thank god i already planned everything! my assistant principal is nice though. she understood a little more than my principal did, but they dont know anything about music programs anyway, so its difficult discussing what im doing and need to accomplish and how i can accomplish it in a certain time frame. as of right now, they want me to prepare 4 songs for each grade for the spring concert. i already told them that is easier said than done. ive already started teaching my songs, but 3 is more manageable than 4. you need to take into consideration breaks, testing and other day to day issues that happen. i told my principal its easier said than done to prepare all of this material. the younger kids, i might be able to pull out another song, but even for them ive picked challenging music. lots of words, lots of choreography and lots of concepts to discuss. theyre just upset because parents were upset with the winter concert and of course its my fault that my sub didnt finish teaching the songs, even though i wrote out specific plans for him and told him what each class should be doing. sigh its all the more reason i need to leave. too much pressure and micromanaging over things that dont need to be.

alright. i gotta get myself together and get my car taken care of: gas, wash and an oil change. later!
