i have not written here in for quite some time.
i see now i have written less in 2015 versus 2014
in catching up with my bed and relaxing i saw a few great movies i wanted to acknowledge.
here is one of them.
i do not want to get into the plot and spoilers about the movie as i do not want to ruin it for everyone but i must say. here is the basic synopsis
“A fictitious love story inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.”
the movie is beautiful. it is based upon a true story. 1926 denmark. it is a period piece and i love period pieces. yes we know its about a man who wants to be a woman. to be transgendered. but there are other factors to the movie.
but it really is much more than that. i looked at the movie outside of that.
words that come to mind are
being happy, to be in love, to be yourself, to feel free, to be accepted.
the main character lili elbe played by eddie redmayne was adorable as man or woman. the role he played made you want to be friends with him whether he was man or woman. he/she was just simply charming. you were immediately drawn to this person whether man or woman. i also love some of the lines in this movie and how they are said.
for those of us who are women- he reminded us about being feminine, to love ourselves and our bodies. it was incredibly sad in some ways especially for the loss of a husband but his wife was such a strong woman, wow------incredibly strong. it leaves you to think - does love have boundaries? are there stipulations and standards for love? sad in the sense of not being accepted and having to hide how you feel. how awful that must feel to hide how you really feel. in life . i could not imagine feeling this way.
in any case----i love it.
