Ah, hello, old friends and new. I haven’t written prose in quite a while, for myself or anyone else. But I have been faithfully posting poetry, old or new, at least once a day on Instagram for almost a year now. If you’re into that kind of thing, please feel free to check out my account:

Here’s the text version of a fresh one from this morning as a teaser:

And Begin Again

My thoughts of you are like clouds.
Even on blue sky summer afternoons
they are beginning to collect
as their moisture evaporates from my busy mind
and rises into the atmosphere.
Once there, they frolic wispy
across the expanse of my imagination,
tease the sun and play with its light
like a child making puppets of shadows.
Eventually, they do as all clouds do,
they grow heavy with feeling
until they spill, burst, storm,
pour out “I love you,” and “You are beautiful.”
Eventually, they do as all clouds do,
they rain.
