Well, looky here. January 1st and an entry already. Check me out!!
Don’t hold your breath, it won’t last.
Had a typical oldie-type New Years Eve and spent it at home and in bed before midnight ( Hope I’m not stereotyping here!). We watched some New Year festivities on TV before we went to bed about 11.30 pm. We basically went that early as a couple of our dogs aren’t keen on fireworks and we knew some people around here would be setting them off.
We ended up watching the London celebrations on TV and they were pretty spectacular, done to music so they didn’t actually freak the dogs out at all.
Then read for a little while after and finally went to sleep about 1 AM. Only to be woken up by Furby at 5.25! Not impressed at all. Wasn’t my idea of celebrating the start of a new year. Anyway, he needed to go out so there was no way I could just ignore him.
So I made myself busy, emptied the dishwasher, baked some bread (don’t be shocked . I have a BreadMaker machine!) and fed the dogs. Dawn got up around 7 and I headed back to bed for a couple of hours.
Nothing much else has been done today. Dogs walked, took a quick trip to the store for basics (bread, milk etc.) and now sitting with my feet up, dog on my lap, waiting for Vicki, our daughter, to arrive from Cornwall. She’s coming up for a long weekend, so we’re looking forward to that.
So what am I expecting from 2016? I don’t do resolutions as I cannot remember ever actually keeping to one, so don’t waste my time making them anymore. What I hope will happen is that my new job (which starts on Monday) will be interesting and not too hectic. It will be fun working from home full-time now.
Moving to Cornwall is a major aim for this year. It WILL happen, sooner or later.
I hope to pick up a new hobby in Air rifle shooting. Not done any shooting for years and really want to get back into it. I am also hoping this will lead into another article.
Which is another hope for this year….that my writing gets more attention and publishing. I also want to finish my novel that I started years ago!
I would also like to get out on the bike more this year. Hopefully, with not driving miles like the last 3 years I will be able to manage that one.
I would also like to get a new tattoo this year as well. I designed it myself a little while ago and it is to commemorate Mum and Dad, and I intend to have it on the left side of my chest, close to my heart. The person who will be doing it is the husband of one of my work colleagues, who owns his own tattoo studio. I have seen his work and it is superb. He is definitely a Tattoo ARTIST rather than just a tattooist, as I think a lot are today.
My iPad is a work-supplied one and as such is linked into my works e-mail account. There have been a couple come through while I have been off and one that came through today was actually from the company with an attached certificate for my 3rd year anniversary! Wasn’t expecting that and it does show what a good company I work for. They have regularly been voted in the top 10 Global companies to work for, and I can see why. I was quite chuffed at that.
Right, it’s time for a cuppa… so I’ve just been told by she-who-must-be-obeyed!
Stay Safe, peeps.
