Time rolls on and nothing seems to happen. We are resigned now, to being here until after Christmas, so Dawn has, begrudgingly, rescued the Christmas decorations from the garage where they had sat, waiting to be transported to a different home. We are both feeling less ‘Christmassy’ this year. Firstly, because of the move (or not) and secondly, it is the second one without Mum, and it still hurts. Since Dad passed away in 2003, Mum was always a big part of our Christmas preparations. From shopping at certain stores in the run-up, to actually being with us on the day, and the next.
Seems funny writing this on what would have been my Dad’s 81st birthday. Happy birthday, Dad, wherever you are. It’s strange how some things just suddenly hit you. I have just written a post for my Blog about the unfairness of treatment to our troops after returning from war zones with so many problems. Now this has just popped itself into my head as I set up to write for ProseBox.
A touch of melancholy there.
We have another viewing on Sunday by a couple whose house is not on the market yet. According to the Esate Agents their house is the sort they are crying out for at the moment and wouldn’t take long to sell. Hmmm , I seem to remember them saying that about this place! We did approach them about using another Agent, but apparently the contract with them is for 20 weeks! Five bloody months! We could use another one, but even if it sold through that one, we would still have to pay the original as well, which would mean twice the fees. Talk about stitched up. And no, it wasn’t me that signed the contract. Officially, Lee owns the house as he bought it out of his compensation from his accident. Mine and Dawn’s names are actually on the deeds (so he couldn’t sell it from under us!) so we could have signed it as well if required, but decided to let him have some responsibilty. Guess that was a mistake. Of course, because of all the money we have put into the house (kitchen, en-suite, ALL the bills!) we do have a certain say in the sale!
Anyway, I guess we can just keep our fingers crossed that the viewers house DOES sell quickly.
Time to go and do some work I guess.
Stay Safe, peeps.
