Day Twenty Nine: What’s a day at work or school like?
A day at work is a day at school. I am a high school teacher for Special Ed but also for Math since we are short a math teacher. My day:
Up around 6am-
shower, make lunches for Mike and I, get Chloe ready for the day, let dogs out and back in a few minutes later.
Out the door by 6:35
Drop Chloe off at the sitters, watch her play a few minutes, say our goodbyes and back on the road by 7:10
Get to work at 7:30- prep for the day including copies and organizing the classroom.
7:45-8:30 common planning time (meetings)
8:35-8:50 students arriving/hall duty
8:50-10:30 1st block Freshman math with 1/2 sped and 1/2 general ed.
10:35-12:15 2nd block Freshman math- same set up
12:20-12:50 lunch
12:55-2:30 AFDA math- all grades preparing to retake the Algebra SOL exam in 2 weeks.
2:35-3:30 Planning (meetings, paperwork etc)
3:35-4:15/4:45 Students stay after for extra help
4:45/5- off to get Chloe and begin our evening.
