Change of Mind in And so it Continues!

Not totally, just a little alteration.

Still not heard from vicar-woman yet, despite estate agents being on her case. So that’s still up in the air.

Not got any more article commissions yet, but had a couple of “nice” rejections. Basically they either had someone who wrote for them regularly for the subject I was pitching, or, as in the last case, they already had several articles waiting on the same subject. No big deal, as I said they were “nice” rejections and did leave the door open for future proposals on different subjects. So that means I have contact details and they “know” me now.

The change of mind is around my present job. As I said before I am expecting to be one of those cut from the field-based team. We do, however, have a Support Line/Call Centre that operates for the project. And they need two more nurses for this department. It is a system whereby I could actually do it “remotely” i.e. from home, and only have to go into the office once a month. One of my team colleagues did this a while ago. She moved to the Isle of Wight from Kent, quit her field-based position, then about 2 months later came back and works on the Support Line from her home.
I spoke to my Project Director about this, and her words were “Oh I’m chuffed you are looking at that. We would hate to lose you”, which I thought was nice.
I did tell her of my impending move to Cornwall, but this job means I can still do it from wherever I live.
My pay would stay the same, but I’d lose my company car, iPad and phone. I think I can live with that. Dawn and Lee have both got cars I could use if needed and I’ve still got my bike for the nicer weather. I have my own personal iPhone and with the cash we get from selling the caravan I can get my own iPad! I must say I do use it fair bit and would miss it if I didn’t have it.

The good thing is that it means I can still do my writing from home , even while monitoring the Support Line, and I have a solid income to pay the bills until the writing bears fruits big enough for me to be able t o rely on it.

So that’s what been happening in RNBiker World for the last few days. Nothing more exciting, sadly.

Stay Safe, peeps.
