Well writing, obviously, as well as the autobiography I am slowly working on, I enjoy writing short stories and poems.

Another favourite hobby is family history. I have always been into this but only really got going seriously about 15 years ago when the 1901 census came online. Since then there have been more and more records available on the internet and I have got back to the early 1600s with some lines. I have combined these two hobbies by writing stories about my family history, I take a story I have been told about some family member and turn it into a short story.

I also like singing and playing guitar at folk clubs and gardening.

My aunt loved genealogy. She traced us back to being related to Robert E Lee. ☺

That's amazing. I have been hoping to find someone famous in the family tree. It does seem very likely that my family is descended from the Pendrell brothers, they are the ones who led Charles II to safety when he hid in an oak tree. I also discovered that my great great grandmother's sister was the cook in the home of Josiah Wedgewood, the pottery people. Charles Darwin married their daughter so my ancestor may well have cooked his dinner when he visited!
