So looked back to see when the last time I really wrote anything was in JANUARY!!! And even that isn’t anything to hoot and holler about! I didn’t even follow up on it.

That entry stated

” For those of you that do please say a prayer for our family tonight, For those of you who don’t please send good mojo! Thanks in advance!”

Do 11 months later here is my follow up.

That night we had a phone call from my husbands step mom letting us know his dad was in the hospital. He has had diabetes for a while and his body has slowly been shutting down. Well over a week or two during that time he was having chest pain and feeling really tired.

Well when we got to the hospital we were informed they were afraid he was having a series of small heart attacks and that they needed to run some test. Here is the catch, with his kidneys being at low functioning levels anyway this put him at even more rest of kidney failure.

So because of the intensity of the whole ordeal they had to make a decision on what to do, well in the end that decision ended with running the tests that cause the dye to go from the main artery in the leg through the heart and it glowing through a screen to allow them to look for blockages.

They found one blockage but the heart had rerouted the blood to allow him to continue without having to have surgery. (YAY) but here is the catch. . . His kidneys were not able to function well enough to digest the dye. That being said pushed him to 4% kidney function and beginning dialysis at the age of 52!!

This year with my FIL has been a rough one. I love that man, he has been there for us since we found out we were pregnant, gave us a place to live, officiated our wedding so on and so forth. My husband is devastated as they say some people can lose the battle even though they are on dialysis. So even though he is on the wait list for a new kidney doesn’t mean he will make it til there is one available :(

Aside from being very tired from working and doing dialysis 4 hours a day 3 days a week he is doing well. His color looks much better and he doesnt look so skinny.

So continue with good mojo!!!

Since this is so long and I am supposed to be setting up my husbands new laptop (hehe seems to be working well to me) I will continue with 2015 soon!!!!

That's rough! Dialysis must be so hard to go through. But I'm glad he's still able to be with you guys, and I hope things keep getting better:)
