It has been an absolutely crazy fall!
My work hours aside (I'll write about that later) the run of Legally Blonde was a tricky one to get through. I was only running lights for this one but man did it take it out of me. The focus and programming days were insane because we were soooooo very far behind due to the set construction taking forever.
The set design is consistantly a problem with this particular group...durring hairspray they set up a giant set of steps and then realized that they were too big...and the scrim wouldn't fit....this time it was a giant two story sorority house with a sweeping staircase....that barely fit between the cyc and the midstage curtain.
There were amazing things that happened throughout the show. Just epic mistakes and the fly operator actually managed to break off one of the break handles for the scenery fly rig.
I learned a TON about lighting though and someday soon I hope to be able to do my own design someday.
We had a sad week where the cat had to be put down. She had a serious heart murmur and the vet thinks it just got to her and threw the rest of her little body out of sync. I wish we could have been there at the end but it just wasn't possible. I felt like we had abandoned her :( - I keep looking for her when I close doors.
