Age three (the last one) in tell me a story about when you were...

For two years in a row we went on holiday to Dorset. The first time was when I was three. We stayed in a house with a long, steeply sloped garden, at the bottom was a gate which led to a footpath above the railway line. At the other side of the railway line was a steep cliff down to a beach.

My memories are a little confused although I’m pretty sure that most of them are from the second trip, I’ll give you the snapshots from the first.

I remember that there were lizards everywhere which, probably, was the beginning of my love for lizards!

My mum took charge in the tiny kitchen and made her usual amazing picnics (although I have no idea what she had in them, they were always delicious!). Li’l sis, 3 or 4 months old at this point, did a lot of lying around without a nappy (mum rarely put nappies on us in good weather) and big sis learned to use one of those things you put around your ankle and skip over.

And we rolled down the garden. A lot!

The memories that are stronger are, I assume, from the following year so I’ll get to those later 😁
