“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that?
We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves.”
Well, still haven’t re-sold yet, but got two serious possibles which is good.
As far as we know the house we found in Cornwall is still available too, so everything crossed for that.
Today the project team were all called down to Head Office for a “Project Update”, after the big pow-wow with the pharma company we’re contracted to.
Seems like they have reduced the budget yet again (do it every year) and this time it has caused some streamlining.
The country is being split into 7 sectors, instead of the present 12. This means that 5 of us are going. One has already gone, joined a different project, so that leaves 4 of the present team to be moved on. This could either be re-deployed into another project or made redundant. There is a 30-day “consutation” period that they are legally bound to carry out. During this time the team members that have been ear-marked to leave the team will be talked to on an individual basis to see what they want to do, where they might want to go. Then the results of this will be issued on December 3rd and “redundancy ” letters passed out. Which means by January 2nd, 2016 some of us could be out of a job.
This gives me 2 months to hopefully, sell this place and move. Guess we’ll see what happens. Speaking to several colleagues after the meeting, a lot of them said they felt it was time for a change for them anyway. It would be funny if we all wanted to leave the project! LOL
On the upside, I had an e-mail from an editor today saying that an article I sent them is to be published in the wniter issue in December. Woohoo Go me! Just need the second one to be published too now and I’ll be happy. Got a few more in the pipeline too, so all is going well there.
Stay safe, peeps.
