It was weird not writing for a few days! I got so used to coming here every day to write. I doubt I can keep up with the daily writing but I hope I can avoid going a month between entries as I am prone to doing sometimes!
So the Ann situation wasn't quite as dire as my dad thought. He's so bad at retaining and understanding medical things. She had some issue with her gallbladder, sludge or a blockage, and they went in endoscopically and got that resolved. Then apparently the intestine problem...well, I still don't know what that was, but my dad seems to think that her doctors feel it's something that can be cleared up with antibiotics? I have no idea. The day my dad first reported on her hospitalization, she was in so much pain and so ill that all she could do was lie in the fetal position and didn't seem able to communicate. But after her procedures, she's doing much better - able to walk a bit, talk, make jokes. However, one of the drugs they gave her has been making her hallucinate so that's been a fun ride for her and her kids, who have been essentially living at the hospital with her. Ugh.
I haven't been in school for the past 2 days because yesterday I miraculously didn't have any of the labs or classes that were scheduled. Today I had 2 hours of class, but said fuck it and intended to watch lecture capture...but slept instead. And I'm probably not going to watch the lectures. I have an exam in the class on Monday but only need 30% on it to get a C in the class. So...that's great motivation to study., right?
It is so fucking cold! I'm never ready for winter. It snowed a bit on Wednesday. Slippery, freezy, wet snow. Bastards. My dad usually takes care of it but since he's been doing double duty with working and spending lots of time at the hospital with Ann, mum and I decided we would shovel to give him a bit of a break. The snow was so heavy! And some had partially frozen to the ground. Oh, and we have some cracks in our driveway that had lots of little, shitty plants emerging from them. And the snow kept sticking to my, but not my mom's, shovel. Good times! We were out there for about 2 hours and decided it was our workout for the rest of the winter :P We need Aaron to get the snowblower up and running for us!
I love winter. ::snorts::
Aaron and I met Amber and Adrik for lunch at Hazel's today. It was painful to go outside! But the food and company were worth it. I'm still sort of full.
Mogget is thinking destructive kitty thoughts.

It's kind of a good thing we can't have a tree because the dogs would pee on it. Otherwise, the cats would create a horrible mess :P
Oh! So I got my schedule for next semester. It's actually pretty sweet. Despite having like 18 classes, it's the lightest class load I've had credit wise since undergrad. I also didn't get into a class that I didn't really want to take but felt like I should try to get into because it's a good class, just a lot of work. They picked students randomly and I didn't get in! Whee!!! I'm both pleased and disappointed, but more pleased than anything else. It means I get a lot of Friday afternoons off and don't have weekly, involved, daunting assignments.
One more week of class, one week of finals. 4 more exams. I can finish this mofo of a semester!
