Bookings for viewings have been made and there are 4 places to be seen, maybe 5 as I found another one tonight. Lee will phone them tomorrow to see if we can make it this weekend.

I got my leave approved very quickly as my Line Manager knows the situation, so she is supporting me well. We had a chat and the team has got to lose at least 2 members. One has already gone, and with my leaving imminent then no-one else will have to be sacrificed.

So the plan is to head down to Cornwall thursday morning. The first viewing is Thursday afternoon at 1600. Three more are booked for Friday, 2 in the morning and one in the afternoon. Hoping the 5th one can be made for Saturday, or even later on Friday.

Not sure if Lee will be coming with me or not. He has a skin problem that flares up every so often and makes it painful for him to move about. It flared up again today and usually last 3 or 4 days, so it might just be too uncomfortable for him. That means everyone will just have to rely on my judgement. Dawn and I are very similar when it comes to what we like and don’t, and Lee is OK with the fact that there may not be an annexe close by. There’s only one with that facility. We’ll just have to see. I would really prefer a 3-bed place so one bedroom could be converted into an office for my writing. There are two that fit the bill that we really like, including the one I found today.

Vicki has her partners daughter staying with them this weekend so can’t put me up. Our carvan has been let out already so I can’t stop there. Luckily we have more friends down there that have offered me their spare room. Craig and Scott are Vicki’s friends from up here, who moved to Cornwall before she did. It was while visiting them that she fell in love with the place. They are a really lovely couple and actually got married 3 years ago. We have accepted them into our extended family , as they have us. They are a great laugh to be with. I will still see Vicki over the weekend, of course.

It gets even better, as Lee has managed to sell his Mustang too. he took a big hit on it, but it was just sitting in the drive in all weathers, so it’s better off with someone who can either ggarage it , or drive it more often. Anyway, we are just glad to see the back of it!

We have got the facts and figures from the Solicitors and the removal firm, so it is just a case of finding a new place and getting that sorted. Seems to be going so quickly. I just hope one of these houses proves suitable at the weekend. I will let you all know, of course!

Stay safe, peeps.

P.S. There may be a name-change again soon, because when I start writing full-time I will be relinquishing my nursing registration, so cannot call myself ‘RN’ any more!
