I have refined the crisp topping to the one listed below. This recipe works well for almost anything fruit like you can fit in a pan. I'm putting the simple apple filler bit with it, but I've already done this recipe now with blackberries, raspberries, apples, as well as apples and raspberries.

1 1/4 cups rolled oats
2/3 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter

3 apples
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
8" square pan

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine oats, flour, & brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Melt the stick of butter and mix in bowl until thoroughly mixed. Chop and peal apples, then placed in greased pan. Mix the white sugar and cinnamon together, then drizzle evenly over apples. Take topping and spread evenly over apples, then place in the oven. Bake for 40 minutes, or until topping is golden brown. free hit counter
