Botulism is Preferred in Ponderings of the Universe

My GI tract may be conspiring against me. Could be study/exam anxiety, from nibbling on some moldy chocolate (Renee brought back some chocolate from Chicago and it was not right), coming down with something, or being upset. We'll see what adventures the night brings!

I have lost complete interest in studying for tomorrow's exam. FU infectious diseases of small animals! FU!

Ann's in the hospital. My dad wasn't entirely sure what was going on but it has something to do with her intestines. He was unsure if it was tumor obstruction, ischemia, and/or necrosis. None are good and the doctors were fairly sure that surgery is not an option. They were going to do an MRI as he was leaving the hospital to go to work and he doesn't know the results yet. At least they've got her on a morphine drip and some ativan, so she's in less pain, but she's unable to really communicate with her pain meds on board. Her kids are trying to be strong. I can't imagine being in their position. They're a few years younger than I am and I can't fathom surviving without my mom at my age, let alone when I was 19, as her youngest child is.

Going to go try to studying some more. Learning about botulism is less depressing that this.
