Not been here for a few days, mainly because I have busy with my writing!
I have set up my own webpage, www.paulsmart.org, and there’s some links to some of my short articles published on HubPages.
I’ve also got proposals into 4 magazines at the moment. I’ve joined a couple of writing sites that advertise freelance jobs, and am just waiting for the administration to approve it. You have to send sample articles for them to “rate” you.
I’m actually really enjoying it. I’m getting to spend a fair bit of time towards it too, as I am on leave at the moment. I was supposed to be going to Germany this weekend, but to be honest we just couldn’t afford it, not with going to Cornwall next weekend, and that is more important.
Weather can’t make its mind up again Last 3 days have been OK. But rain is supposed to arrive again this weekend. I actually used my bike for work on Wednesday, my last working day before leave. I had arranged for my car to have the windscreen fixed. I had a stone chip in it. The guy to do it was supposed to be here between 10-1300. In the meantime I had to make an appointment that had to be done by no later than 14.00. The fix was supposed to take no longer than half hour. In the end he turned up at 12.40, and I had to leave at 13.00 to get to the appointment.
Dawn had gone out to see her brother in Loughborough, so I had no choice but to use the bike. Shame ay?!
It was a nice 78 mile round trip across the fen roads around here. Very flat, between dykes, and very bumpy! My back and arms are feeling it today. Not so much the distance , just the state of the roads. Not ideal.
Nothing really planned for the weekend. Just be chilling, might do a little more writing. I may even take a ride out to one of the local attractions, Grimsthorpe Castle, to take a few photos, as this is one of the articles I have proposed to a couple of magz.
