I am going to try to write as much possible this month. I’m on maternity leave ya know, so I should do something (besides just keeping my baby girl alive)

Tomorrow is her 1-month milestone. In some ways I can’t believe it’s already been a month. But in other ways, I can’t remember life without her in it.

We are still in the weeds, and most likely will remain in muck for another couple of months. It’s hard. I’ve had a couple of really hard days in a row and I’m mentally so, so exhausted. My mom left on Friday which means that Aaron has resumed Joaquin-morning-duty which means I’ve been more or less on my own in the morning with a fussy babe and I had grown really used to sharing the morning grind with him.

But it will get better.

Last night was about as fun as Halloween could be when both parents are exhausted, as was the kid, due to getting up way to early and not napping.

We all dressed as Scooby doo characters and rallied to go to a close friends’ house and join their crew for tricks and treats along one of the coolest strips in northeast Los Angeles for kiddos. It was fun to watch Joaquin - he was so excited and had so much fun.

But it was also a draining. I was so excited to get home, remove my terrible wig and sip a nice cold glass of Sauvignon blanc. Joaquin was so exhausted he almost immediately fell asleep. It was bliss …

Speaking of bliss, it’s been another long and exhausting day, I just had a 90-minute massage and both kids are asleep. Time for tonight’s glass of vino…

One month, what!

Dude, your costumes were the BEST. The baby Scooby KILLED ME DEAD. I can't even with that squishy little girl.
