The place where life happens is the place where you are. The place where you build success and achievement is the place where you are.
You cannot change the places where you came from, and you’ve not yet arrived at the places you’ll be. The place where you are is the only place where you can think and act and make life happen in the way you intend. If you spend your time wishing you were someplace else, then you lose the opportunity to get there.
Instead, see the power and the possibilities of the place where you are, and tap into the real value of what you now have. If you fill the place where you are with worry, frustration, anxiety or anger, you will put needless limitations on what you can do. Instead, fill this moment, this set of circumstances with joy. Love, gratitude and enthusiasm for the positive possibilities. Give the best you can to the place where you are.
For your world is determined not by what you hope to do on some distant someday, but by how you live right here and now. This is the place where you are.

I borrowed this quote from a friend’s diary. No idea who the author is. But I think it’s very pertinent for me at the moment.

Ambition is a fantastic motivator, and for me the Freelance Journalist gig is growing and I am embracing it with both hands. I am really keen to make a go of this and feel that it is the right thing for me.

Same as moving to Cornwall. We love the bungalow where we live at the moment but for some reason Cornwall is calling us strongly. So we just have to make it be. We know it isn’t going to happen overnight and that we need to spend time putting things into place, and we have the patience to work through things properly. At least we are somewhere where we are not unhappy.

Work is busier this week which is a bit of a relief. I have appointments every day so that is not so bad. Still making plans to leave sometime soon though. My writing is taking up the rest of my time so I am actually completing a full day’s work these days. And the writing is giving me a lot of enjoyment and fulfilment, especially doing the research for the articles I am writing. I just want to spend more time on it and get out and take photos to go with the articles as well. Hopefully , after our Cornwall holiday at the end of the month, we will be able to be in a position where I can give up work and concentrate full-time on the writing. That is the plan anyway.

If I seem a little happier and more focused, it’s because the double-dose of my happy pills has kicked in! I am feeling much better already, so I know it’s what I need from the doc on the 8th.

We are making a conscious effort to de-clutter as well. It’s amazing how we cling on to stuff “just in case” and it ends up filling our houses, garages, and every nook and cranny. I cleaned my desk drawers out yesterday and got a full carrier bag of stuff that I had been hanging on to “because I might need them”. I shall be tackling the loft in the near future. I know I have all my text books from my nursing course over 10 years ago. Kept them “just in case”. I shall probably visit the local nursing college and put an ad on their notice board, selling them off cheap as I know how expensive nursing books can be. I am sure we will be having a garage sale soon as well, to get rid of a load more stuff that we don’t need.

Well, on that note, it’s time for me to retire......to bed that is!
Stay Safe, peeps
