Tight, well-written, nice and disturbing mystery thriller with a touch of morality tale about it. If you're one of those people that happens upon Justice Files or one of those Unsolved/Cold Case shows and can't stop watching (none of us seek 'em out, but man can they waste our time efficiently), then this movie will be right up your alley. Some of the clues, as far as I can tell, only exist to lead you somewhere and don't really have much of an explanation in and of themselves, but things do connect and while the reveal makes sense, a small part of you will roll your eyes a little nonetheless (of COURSE it was so-and-so...); yes, there are red herrings. No, you probably won't figure it out unless you just happen to be one of those people that always figures it out. Yes, in retrospect, it is a little odd that so many famous people have starring roles in this film. I didn't cast it. I guess they all really wanted to work with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. (who are both very good, btw). The film sorta attempts to have a message about human nature, but as the end reveals start showing themselves, it kinda shakes its head and cowers away from anything too profound. It had the potential to be a real game-changer. As it is, it's simply really good.
